Branch supports a new focus on geo-thermal energy

The Annerley Branch has resolved to encourage the Federal Government to put more resources into geo-thermal energy as a long term option for Australia.

The resolution was strongly supported by Branch members who believed that there was still much untapped potential underneath the Earth's surface.

Supporters of the resolution claimed that the geo-thermal option would help introduce environmentally sound, base-load electricity generation for Australia.

The resolution has been conveyed to the Federal Climate Change Minister, the Hon Penny Wong MP.
