Abbott government going from bad to worse

The Courier Mail's Dennis Atkins was correct when he recently observed that the Abbott government had its worst week since last years federal election.

It was already on the defensive with the controversial departure of Arthur Sinodinos from the Ministry, and the widespread criticism that forced it to freeze its proposed changes to its Future of Financial Advice (FOFA) legislation.

Now it has incurred a very public backlash from even within its own Party as it dithers over deeply criticised changes to Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act. Even Liberal NSW Premier, Barry O’ Farrell, has blasted Attorney General, George Brandis’ comment that people have a right to be bigoted.

After a miserable first six months things are only getting worse for Abbott and his team.
