Fantastic turnout for local Clean Up Australia Day

A big thank you to branch members and local residents who gave up their Sunday morning and volunteered for yet another successful Clean Up Australia Day, this year at Robinson Park in Fairfield.

In addition to the large number of volunteers, which included the Yeronga Scouts, was Jackie Trad MP, Member for South Brisbane. With everyone’s enthusiastic help, we collected over 20 bags of general and recyclable waste.

Although Clean Up Australia Day has been an annual Annerley Branch event for several years now, many local residents commented on how good it was to see Labor activists committed to their community and supportive of such an important national event.

Labor is only strong locally when we support and contribute to important community initiatives like Clean Up Australia Day. And gauging by this years turnout, it will certainly continue to be part of our events calendar for many years to come.
