Community BBQ a hit with Tarragindi residents

Tarragindi residents were treated to a free BBQ hosted by their elected representatives from all three levels of government. Held yesterday (Saturday 15 October) at the Tarragindi Recreational Reserve, the event proved to be very popular with a fantastic turnout from the local neighbourhood.

Hosting the BBQ were Hon Kevin Rudd MP, Federal Member for Griffith, Graham Perrett MP, Federal Member for Moreton, Hon Simon Finn MP, State Member for Yeerongpilly and Cr Steve Griffiths for the Council Ward of Moorooka (pictured).

Feedback from residents was very positive, with suggestions that similar events should be held in the future. Locals were also certainly keen to take the opportunity to talk to their elected representatives, with all four kept very busy throughout the event.

One resident commented that it was 'exciting to be able to meet all their local politicians at the one time and talk about various issues'.

Keen to demonstrate his fine cooking skills, Kevin Rudd wasted no time in taking over the BBQ grill at one point, to the delight of guests.

Organised and funded by the Annerley Branch of the ALP, the BBQ is one of the Branch's annual community projects. For more information about the Tarragindi community BBQ, please email info@annerleylabor.org
