'Most successful' book drive to help local literacy program

The Annerley Branch has boasted its most successful book drive ever, with a record number of books donated by members. Organised by the Branch as part of its community program, the annual book drive aims to help boost the stock of the local Annerley Community Bookshop and Neighbourhood Centre. The Bookshop is well known for its fantastic community work such as its literacy program for migrants and the general public. Sales from their large range of books helps to continue this important work.

On hand to help in the hand over of donated books was State Member for Yeerongpilly, Simon Finn MP (pictured with Jessica from the Bookshop and Rod Beisel from the Annerley Branch). The bookshop has thanked the Branch for their support and were overwhelmed with the side of the donation.

Branch Secretary, Rod Beisel, has thanked members for their contributions, commenting that the response had been outstanding.

The Annerley Community Bookshop is located at Shop 12, 478 Ipswich Rd, Annerley.
