Defeating last years champions, the Yeronga Branch, the Annerley Branch team won convincingly with the final score 8-2.
Held at the Yeronga Bowls Club, the Matt Foley Shield is an annual lawn bowls event vigorously played between the branches of the Yeerongpilly electorate. It is named after former Member for Yeronga/Yeerongpilly, Hon Matt Foley, who held the seat from 1989 - 2004.
This years victorious team comprised captain Noel Morris, Cameron Crowther, Doug Stewart and Shingo Yasui (pictured with Matt Foley and Simon Finn MP).
The Annerley Branch last won the Shield in 2007 and had been runners up in last years tight contest.
